The world’s great dental tradeshows are synonymous with a single city. Think of IDS Cologne, IDEM Singapore and ADX Sydney. It’s in that context that Australia’s premier dental event gets a pretty awesome address for its website:
Australia’s largest healthcare tradeshow is ADX18 Sydney which has more than 500 exhibition booths and will attract some 10,000 stakeholders from across the dental community. It will be held over 23-25 March 2018 at the International Convention Centre Sydney, a physical address that matches the event’s website address.
According to the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA), the nation’s peak business organisation for dental product manufacturers and suppliers, the website name was a straight-forward selection.
“Every two years, this event brings dental and oral health professionals from around Australia together in order to learn more, buy more and see more. They do this in one place, Sydney,” said Troy Williams, ADIA Chief Executive Officer.
The new domain name for ADX18 Sydney is just one aspect of a major investment by ADIA in IT infrastructure to support Australia’s largest healthcare tradeshow. From an online floorplan that allows exhibitors to select their booth using a map on their computer to technology that monitors visitor flows throughout the exhibition hall, the ADX18 Sydney exhibition is setting high standards in the adoption of new technology. However, it’s the website that’s attracted most attention:
“As one exhibitor told me, this domain name is just sexy. It’s eloquent in its simplicity,” Mr Williams said.
ADIA was quick to put one rumour to bed, this being to cash in on the name given recently to another Sydney icon, the harbour ferries.
“There was no way we were going to go with ADX Mc ADXface,” Mr Williams joked.
